Thank You - Nakuriik

Dear Fellow Parishioners,

Fifteen months ago, our Society of St. Vincent de Paul conference conceibed the idea that we should participate in the Socieety;s Canada-wide, North of 60 Project, which has been providing food assistance to 17 Canadian Arctic communities for over ten years.

We are excited to report that with the support of our parish priests, the financial generosity of St. John Chrysostom parishioners, their families, firends, neighbours, fellow Vincentians and individuals from other fatih groups, we are able to move forward with the purchase of food items.  Raising $24, 686 toward this cause could not have been possible without your help.  We are extremely grateful.  thank you!

A special thank you goes to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul's Our Lady of Grace Conference, in Aurora, who has partnered with us in fulfilling our 2023 commitment to provide food to Sanirajak.  Their financial support this year and into the future will be a crucial factor to ensure we can deliver on our annual commitment of this event.

We are in the process of purchasing food for the container, which will be picked up the week of July 3rd.  I would encourage you to stop by St. Elizabeth Seton parking lot to view the mural painted on the conatiner, courtesy of Sacred Heart Catholic High School art students and staff.

Giving back to our Indigenous neighbours is not a one-tim reconciliation event.  National Indigenous Peoples Day is June 21st and we will then kick-off our goad to raise funds for the 2024 Sea Contaner.  Blue donation evnvelopes are available at the back of the Church.

Thank you for your continued support.

Yours sincerely
