he Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, or RCIA, is a spiritual journey of formation, prayer and discernment by both the individual and the Parish community. It is designed for adults and children of catechetical age (in their seventh year) who consciously and freely seek God and want to enter into the life of faith as disciples of Jesus. The climax of the journey is receiving the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist at the Easter Vigil.
The RCIA journey is a gradual process that takes place within the Parish community, as both the community of the faithful and the catechumens (those to be baptized) reflect together on the paschal mystery and living the life of a Christian disciple.
RCIA is also appropriate for those who are baptized in another Christian denomination and wish to become Catholic and for Catholics who were baptized as infants, but did not complete their initiation as a young person.
For more information about RCIA, please contact the Parish Priest through the Parish office.
